What is Stretch Therapy Class?
A series of stretching sessions demonstrating a variety of head-to-toe stretch techniques while explaining the most effective stretches for each pain point and addressing your questions about injuries, repetitive strain, postural issues, headaches and more!
Learn how to properly position your body for each stretch, while the host provides adjustments and modifications for individuals as needed.
Participants have given positive feedback about live-streaming, as it allows them to hear and see corrections made to others while making adjustments in real time.
Personalized Experience
As the classes progress, we delve into the specific problematic areas of the body and their underlying causes, answering questions as they arise. Together, we explore how our daily routines lead to unique patterns of chronic muscle tension that, if left untreated, can cause pain by misaligning our skeletal system. We also share strategies for establishing effective stretching habits at home to counteract daily repetitive strain.
**Before registering, please note that anyone with advanced mobility restrictions, ankylosing spondylitis or disc herniations should contact Lisa D. for proper assessment and guidance. If you have an acute injury requiring more than a week to heal, it is our recommendation that you take time to heal before participating in FOGAmotion Stretch Therapy classes.
Class Structure
Each 6-week series consists of upper-body, lower-body, and full-body classes to help participants navigate their pain points specifically.
Each class starts with a brief warm-up and gentle toning exercises for the pelvic floor and spine, and your host Lisa D. closely monitors participants throughout the hour to ensure proper muscle targeting. To enhance flexibility, stretches are held for 30-40 seconds.
Drop-ins, 3-class EXPRESS passes and 6-class VIP passes are available.
Speak with Lisa D. directly for more info on class schedules and for help choosing the right pass for your pain relief needs.
Upper Body
The series begins with two upper body classes, targeting chronic headaches and migraines, jaw and neck pain, upper shoulders and between shoulder blades. They’re also target forearm, hand and rotator cuff pain; as well as general range of motion restrictions.
Full Body
The third class is a full body session that introduces lower body stretches alongside upper body stretches, helping participants experience the benefits of full-body stretching. This class promotes relaxation and provides a break before moving on to lower body content. The sixth and final class is also a full body stretch.
Lower Body
The fourth and fifth classes concentrate on lower body stretches to address lumbar pain, SI joint issues, gluteal pain, and sciatica. They also cover tendonitis in the thighs, knees, lower legs, and feet. Chairs are available for modified positions, and kneeling cushions are strongly recommended.
